A Question for the Goldwing Gurus
Looking at risers for my Wing.
I seem to find myself leaning forward some and putting a little weight on my wrists.
Would risers help this? And what ones are the best?

Yes they would. I use MLB risers myself. Up and back but the same width.

Isn't that the wide MLB kit? That is the one I'm looking at.
Doesn't the standard kit narrow the width about 2"?

The Regs that Len posted are good also. I know a bunch of folks that use them also.

Re: A Question for the Goldwing Gurus
The Reg risers are about $40 more than the MBL risers and they have been on backorder for about 2 months and DLP says they don't know when they will be available.
I have ordered the MBL wide kit from Wingstuff, I'm also going to get a set of the Easy Mount Seat Bolts.
Hopefully they will make getting the seat back on a little easier.

Re: A Question for the Goldwing Gurus
I've used risers on a number of bikes and they seem to help...even changed handlebars themselves on my Rocket to help my deer injured should pain.... it's amazing how a little adjustment can help...I also found that altering posture when riding can take weight off shoulders and wrists...just straighten out my back a little and the weight is relieved...This makes a huge difference for more sport riding oriented positions

Re: A Question for the Goldwing Gurus
Just wanted to follow up and let y'all know I got my risers and installed them.
They bring the handle bars up and back about an inch each way. the width is the same as stock.
I can set the back rest a bit back further and relax my elbows.
Went out for about 200 mile ride today. Feels good!!!

Hardest part was unplugging the electrical connection on the piece with the seat and hand warmer controls. I got big fat fingers.

The gauge just unbolts and swings up out of the way. No need to disconnect anything on it. The rest is a real easy bolt up install.
I used a dremal to trim the cover as directed. Used a quarter and marked it with a sharpie and trimmed along the lines I drew.

Re: A Question for the Goldwing Gurus
I removed my plastic cover completely but I have the Traxxion AK-20s so I need access to the top of the shocks for adjustments. Why did you remove your seat to put risers on?

Re: A Question for the Goldwing Gurus
I didn't remove the seat, I was talking about the center front shelter piece that has my seat and grip heat controls on it.alabamawing wrote:I removed my plastic cover completely but I have the Traxxion AK-20s so I need access to the top of the shocks for adjustments. The electrical connection for them is clipped to the frame and the shelter piece won't come off until you unplug it.
I had a hard time getting my hand in there to undo it.

Re: A Question for the Goldwing Gurus
oh, I know exactly what plug you are talking about now. I always bend the catch back the first time I do that to anyone's bike so it will be easier next time.Doc wrote:I didn't remove the seat, I was talking about the center front shelter piece that has my seat and grip heat controls on it.alabamawing wrote:I removed my plastic cover completely but I have the Traxxion AK-20s so I need access to the top of the shocks for adjustments.
